Itinerary and Events
Since this event is so casual a true itinerary is going to be hard to put to paper, so to speak, so this is a guideline of what I have in mind. These guidelines are not set in stone, things will most likely change once we get there and can plan more things together. I'll also add more info on the fun things I have planned, watch out, this could get a little wild.
Being so close to the Sheraton Wall Center I figured we could hang out at their lounge for a cocktail party or 2, seeing as how last year during Gatecon is became our main hangout it seems fitting to meet there on Friday the 11th to get our party started.
I figure it'll go something like this.....
Friday, I will show up early afternoon, scope out the area and make sure our rooms are ready. Since I don't know yet who will be there when, I figure we can meet at the Sheraton's main front lounge about 4:30 or 5pm and once we get a decent group together we can make some plans and talk about what I've got so far. I figure we'll be there a few hours so we can talk and relax and get our Groove on!!!
After that, depending on what everyone wants to do, we can either go back to our hotel and have our own party, we can go downtown to party or we can go out to a nice dinner at a cheaper restaurant, the Sheraton is quite expensive and I know lots of us are trying to save money. The possibilities are endless. So, if you happen to miss us you can try calling my room, it'll be under Kim Fox. I will give out more specific contact info to everyone when it gets closer either on Facebook or by email.
Saturday I'm hoping the weather works with us so we can go to 3rd beach at Stanley Park and have a picnic. There will be snacks, drinks, games, relaxation and tons of fun. I have come up with a few games we can play and prizes will be awarded to the winners. So far I have, Battlestar Galactica Twister, Stargate Clue, Scifi Scrabble and a Frisbee tournament. Or we can just hang and chill, chat and relax, it's that crazy cool!!! Any guests joining us are free to bring friends, family, even pets.
Also, I'm all about being an equal opportunity money maker, so ANYONE wanting to bring anything that they want to sell is free to do so during the picnic or at any point during the times we are at the hotel. Only rule-it's CASH only, if you're selling stuff you must have change. I may have a few things to part with myself, more on that later.
Saturday evening I know some people have things to do so we'll discuss what the rest of us want to do either on Friday night or Saturday morning.
To make things more fun, I'm sure everyone knows that the Canadian Country Music Awards are going on the whole weekend. Our friend Mike Amowitz will be there from September 9th to the 15th so if anyone is interested in doing something with him he's all for it. There's really so much to do in Vancouver it makes choosing very hard. Plus during the weekend, there's some concerts going on that may be free so there's a chance for us to join in to some of that fun. For you die hard Dan Payne fans, the girl that played his daughter in "Alice, I Think" will be playing with her band during the weekend. Plus Mike said there may be other actors we know around as they are involved with either the music or know someone who is. I'm not the biggest Country music fan but I can get into just about anything and I have a feeling it might be an interesting place to be. So, be prepared for anything.
Sunday is still very up in the air. I'm working with our guests to see who's available and what we can work out. I can't say anything yet, but it could be very cool. Here's a few of the general ideas I have... Q & A's... more sales of whatever anyone has to sell...autograph signing....photos...and after that maybe a nice dinner to end our event. Remember things could change drastically if other things work out so be prepared for anything. Above all this all depends on who's around. I'm hoping to get a better idea of who will be there sunday and to what times so I can try to plan our day better.
